An Introduction to Outcomes & Social Impact

Designed as an introductory session to help delegates understand outcomes and social impact measurement. The session will help delegates identify what they need to do within their own organisations to achieve their measurement goals, introduce delegates to an overview of techniques available to measure outcomes and social impact, and help them to create an action plan to help their organisation work towards outcomes and social impact measurement.

Identifying Outcomes & Measuring Impact

The course will enable organisations to identify their outcomes, assess ways to measure them, discuss “off the shelf” outcomes monitoring tools including The SOUL Record, Outcomes Star and Rickter Scale, and look beyond outcomes towards measuring Social Return on Investment (SROI).

Social Return on Investment (SROI): Measuring Social, Environmental and Financial Impact

Have you heard about SROI but are not sure quite what it is, how it works or how it applies to your project or organisation? This course will provide an overview of SROI, identify what data is required to complete the process, guide you on how to complete the 'Impact Map' and show you how to create your ratio of value creation.

Designing Online Surveys & Using Free Internet Based Services

When you need to collect data from a large number of people, but you don't have the time or resources to do so, an online survey tool can be a great option. This session looks at when and why to implement an online survey, how to create it, how to promote it, what free system options are available and how to start to analyse the information. Online surveys can be particularly useful for collecting outcomes information and getting feedback for an SROI Impact Map.

Data and Data Collection Techniques

Delegates will learn how to gather data easily and effectively. The course will discuss the pros and cons of the various data collection techniques and give delegates some activity based exercises to help them practice the techniques. Techniques covered include questionnaires, focus groups, interviews and an overview of online data collection methods. Legal and ethical considerations when collecting data and storing / using it will be discussed.
